Atención: noticias del hambre de los niños
(Lluvias, I)

Llueve sobre el mundo, y en nuestros corazones, que
alguna vez conocieron la buena gracia de las nubes
hamacadas y el alud de lirios.
La lluvia es tan antigua y tan profunda que pareciera
eterna; también lastima, como la maldición de un niño…
De eso se trata, precisamente, de la maldición de millones
de niños de la boca cortada, de la boca zurcida, que todas
las noches de cada año y por tantos años, con luna o sin
luna, con perros o no perros que la aúllan, deben dormir
con el estómago duro como la estatua del ángel de la nada,
con sus intestinos con música que suenan vacíos, que no
alcanzan a producir la necesaria mismísima mierda.
(Aquí la gloria de la pureza es la materia que falta.
¿Qué fue de la belleza cuando llaman a degüello…?)
Ahí está, ante nuestros ojos, insoportable, opaca como un
espejo de hiel, moviéndose con la gracia de una serpiente de pesadillas, la noticia:
854 millones de personas -en su mayoría niños- no comen diariamente.
No llevan cada noche a sus bocas más que
resignación y muerte, y en el mejor de los casos, que no
es el mejor caso, odio y violencia.
(¿Alguien recuerda la mirada de la piadosa pieta; ¿yace allí la postrer belleza…?)
A caballo de un relámpago podemos ver las bocas de esos
niños. Ya no son hermosas. Si nacieron hermosas dejaron
de serlo con la rapidez de la luz que amenaza oscura, allí
entre las nubes detrás del horizonte.
Más bien son bocas horrorosas las bocas de los niños que
muestran, con la desnudez propia de los niños, la demencia
sin ventura que provocan los hombres que entierran vivos
a sus dioses, y orinan sobre sus tumbas.
¿Los escuchan en la noche cuando gritan: soy libre
en nombre de la riqueza…?
¿O alguien se imagina que el hambre tiene mejor sustancia
que la peste?
¿O superior estética que una corona de rosas devorada por
los chanchos en el medio de un chiquero donde se
amontonan el barro y la mierda?
No; los niños hambrientos perdieron la inocencia
del paraíso.
Los dioses les clavaron un cuchillo en la boca, hartos de
oírlos llorar. Y los ángeles que guardan el sueño de los
buenos niños, a los niños del hambre los abandonaron a
sus malas suertes.
El cuerpo de los pobres, esos cuerpos ajados en un pronto
tiempo antes de tiempo, esos cuerpos sudados por miles de
fiebres, infectados por millones de larvas del pantano
cuando el día y también la noche, que se hunden en las
aguas turbias y sin retorno, poca piedad despiertan en los
ángeles que tienen ojos del cielo pero cerrados, que tienen
oídos del infierno aunque jamás escucharán al torturado
que se lamenta.
Sin vuelta de hoja, esos ángeles bien nutridos se devoran
los cuerpos de los niños hambrientos, serenos y diáfanos
en la mesa de ceremonias.
Las deudas del juego de la vida siempre son sagradas,
y si es preciso se pagan con libras de la propia carne.
Después sonríen, los ángeles, y hasta explican con calma,
rodeados de bienpensantes de variopinto pelaje que
disputan las sobras, todavía sangrientas: los pobres nunca
terminarán de pagar la deuda que tienen con la riqueza
desde el mismo día, santo o maldito, tanto da, en que
vinieron al mundo.
Llueve, siempre llueve cuando la tristeza nos ata los pies
en la tierra…
Post scriptum: Si hay belleza que redima las bocas del espanto, tendrá que romper a mordiscones las ataduras de nuestros pies antes que se pudra el alma…
Resucitaciones
(Lluvias, II)
Pequeñas sombras y míseros gritos, apenas lo humano,
que ya ni conmueve a las estrellas. Algo está allí, desafía
los sentidos, forcejea con la eternidad, se estremece pálido
y al fin se aquieta. No hay músicas en la agonía…
Cae la lluvia y podría no caer; el corazón está seco y la
tierra como nunca, árida… Ahora es momento de tormenta,
los rayos bailotean en las torres y las aves de rapiña
recogen sus alas. Ya volarán…
Un viento sin origen abre las puertas para una nueva
vuelta de tuerca en la ciudad. ¡Hay más! Siempre hay más
si el animal del aullido roe las frentes celestes… Lo atroz
en el alma, anhela y espera…
Ante nuestras narices, un ángel de ausencias recorre las
sombras sagradas; se detiene en ellas, diríase que las
reconoce y las besa…
El temblor manso se extiende por las calles, se da la mano
con el perfume espeso de las coronas mustias, apiladas en
los bordes del cementerio.
Bajo las nubes del ocaso, todavía amenazadoras, aparecen
los niños. El desierto de la salvación retrocede junto a ellos.
Todo lo sucio, lo roto, lo descartado y lo expulsado de sí
como pura porquería, está con ellos.
También Dios está en ellos, pero Dios, no lo sabe. La policía
tampoco lo sabe, así que muestran sus pistolas como si
fueran los diez mandamientos.
Los ojos de los niños no perdonan. Nacieron a la vida en
un espacio cruel, en un tiempo de espanto, y a la espera de la
muerte en la soledad de soledades que guarda la muerte,
viven. Como el aire del basural, apestan. Peor que las
moscas, molestan. No hay lirios aquí. Que el hipócrita de
culo limpio escupa contra su propia tumba.
Sin que cumpla cinco años la inocencia, antes que el astro
más pálido gire alrededor de su belleza cinco años, millares
de niños –oh sí, niños, el llanto de sus cuerpitos–, morirán
en el olvido, sin nombre quien no comió y sin nombre
quien les quitó la comida, mientras las huellas de sus pies
se pierden en el desierto…
Más allá de la tristeza. Por fuera del agobio. Las gotas de
lluvia son iguales a las gotas de lluvia, apenas nos hacen
pensar en el sol…
El hambre no perdona a los niños de la ciudad voraz. Igual
que los perros callejeros que husmean al verdugo, igual
que los dioses de labios fríos, así morirán.
Cuando lleguen nuevas lluvias, porque se anuncian prontas
lluvias, puede ser que resuciten los dioses, pero los niños
del hambre no resucitarán.
